An introduction to the Mazda MX-5
The MX5's first generation NA model sold over 400,000
units between 1989 and 1997 with a 1.6 L (98 cu in)
straight-4 engine to 1993 and a 1.8 L (110 cu in) engine
there after. It was most recognized by its pop-up headlights
In
1998, Mazda released the second-generation NB model
with a more powerful engine and external styling lines
borrowed from the third generation Mazda RX-7. Although
many parts of the interior and body were different to
the earlier model, the most notable changes were the
fixed headlights and heated glass rear window
Production
of the third-generation NC model began in May 2005 and
was eventually launched with a Special Edition model
which featured added chrome accents and special alloy
wheels
In
July 2006, Mazda unveiled a Roadster Coupé version
with a three-piece folding hardtop which takes just
12 seconds to raise or lower without losing any of the
existing boot space when folded down
Since
day one the Mazda MX-5 has always been loved by the
roadster enthusiast and will continue to be a popular
car for many years to come
